GLOW Founder, Kim Tackaberry

Kim Tackaberry graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa in 1991, followed by a Specialist in Special Education Additional Qualification Certification. She has activated learning opportunities for students grades one through nine, for over thirty years. Kim's deep advocacy for individuals with learning disabilities is a result of her time spent teaching at Foothills Academy Society, a centre for children with learning disabilities and/or ADHD in Calgary, Alberta.

At the age of 16, Kim made herself a promise - one day, she would design a safe and comfortable forum for teen girls to speak openly about their experiences and challenges. Decades later, in 2006, the GLOW program was born. For many years, Kim was a long-time volunteer member of the Artemis Group of Calgary with the mandate of raising funds for charities that support women and children. In 2008 She was nominated a Calgary Inc.  Top 40 under 40 award for her devotion to empowering girls to become strong powerful leaders.
